You might want to read this, to find out why there would really be no need to do that:

After that, if you still think you're going to force the 4WD system to be engaged all the time, I suggest this as well (#21 and #23):

Best of luck with your 2008 2.4L RAV4.

I hate to be the one to break this to you but you really need to be aware of it. Almost all 2.4l four cylinders in 2006 - 2008 Ravs (and others) burn oil at an exorbitant rate. It was bad enough that Totota rebuilt the engines with new non defective parts for many thousands of owners. In 2009 they changed the engine entirely to eliminate the problem going to a 2.5l.

In short check the oil every single time you fill up. Some owners of that engine have had them lock up and self destruct due to lack of oil. Don't let yours be one of them.

The all wheel drive system works as needed/on demand. There is no need to fiddle with it. The links DVS posted above are a treasure trove of knowledge, read them.

2.4l four cylinder only from years 2006-2008. It was not limited to the RAV. All models that had that engine had the consumption like Camry, etc.

Photo below of premium supply brands, I use.
- synthetic v6 oil filter is WIX 57047XP XP Extreme Duty; Best for Synthetic Motor Oils; 2.6" Tall
