Hey all,
I’ve been lurking the forum for a few months, and was convinced to get rid of my Tacoma (anyone need one?) and make the swap to a Prime (SE). I’m glad to have a resource like this for our cars!

I’ve always been a “used car” guy, so on purchase, most of what I’ve done has been issue mitigation. The car’s getting undercoated (paraffin) tomorrow, and I’ll be spraying the door jambs with truck bed liner for traction/protection when loading thule boxes and bikes up top. Beyond that and a coat of sealant on the paint, anyone have input about up-front treatment, modifications or additions that will extend the life of these things? Wondering especially about protecting the electrical system.

Thanks all!

Here's a thread indicating that you must not spray the rear motor generator. Parts of the vehicle aren't suitable for spray.

Interesting. I’m having the dealership do it as an add-on prior to my actually picking up the car. I would hope they’ll do it right & remove all plastic paneling + not spray parts of the car that will lunch the electric motor. That said, I guess if they’re the ones that kill the car via a standard service and it’s during warranty….
