Had the car since the end of April and the leather steering wheel has a noticable odor in the area of the wheel where the heating is. It is hard to explain but it's very "chemically" smelling.
My 2020 RAV4 leather wheel was not heated and did not have this odor, so I am wondering if this is something related to the heating elements that goes away in time? It's been about 3.5 months or so and still noticable.
I have only used the heated wheel a few times and generally keep my hands clean so I do not think it was something on my hands that transfered to the wheel. (Cologne, food residue, hand sanitizer, etc).
I can faintly smell the odor on my hands after driving the car.
Does anyone else with a '23 heated wheel have a scent on that part of the wheel?
I've tried wiping down with a damp microfiber towel then drying really well. It doesn't seem to help.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
