I'll start with an apology if this question has been asked before, I have done a search but couldn't find any similar problems. I have a 2001 Rav4 that recently has begun acting odd. Up to now it has operated reliably with very little issues. It has about 170,000 miles on it. Recently when I would turn the key to try and start it there would be no power at all. No lights on the dash, or dome light, nothing. I have had the battery checked at two locations and it's fine, the terminals have been cleaned and tightened. When I would watch the dash board I saw the temp needle jump a little. Then if I would leave it alone for a while it would start just like normal. Any suggestions would be great.

When that same thing happened to me with another vehicle, the trouble was the ignition switch. Replacement cured it.

First things first, right,Pico ? I bet that turns out to be the cure. Ignition switches take a lot of wear and tear.Daily use and heavy keychains take a toll on them.
