Hey guys just wondering if I should change my oil by my sticker date or miles driven. I don't drive much. Just short distances of 15 miles to and from work. So I have 2000 miles to go before the sticker oil change interval. I have a 2020 gas RAV4 with 12'700 miles. Let me know. Thanks.

You’ll want to stick to the owners manual at minimum, which says to change your oil every 10k miles or 1 year (whichever comes first). The sticker is likely a 6 month/5k mile recommendation. Your tires should be rotated on that schedule. I’m guessing your last service center visit was at 10k miles on the odometer? Are you still eligible for your Toyota Care service visits?

Dealership will recommend 10,000 miles or once a year so they only have to do two free oil & filter changes instead of four, but best to go with 5k / 6 mo interval if you plan on keeping the vehicle long term.

Walmart sells Mobil 1 filters and 0W-16 a lot cheaper than auto stores. If you plan on doing your own changes I highly recommend getting a Fumoto F133S or Stahlbus.

Once a year or every 5,000 miles, whichever comes first. Do not do 10,000 mile interval changes, regardless of what Toyota states. Do not go more than one year between changes (over time, moisture gets in the oil). Do not use cheap filters, e.g., Fram Extra Guard, Fram Tough Guard. Do not use any filter rated less than 10,000 miles. Use a quality full-synthetic oil. Use the weight of oil that's specified (unless you drive in an ultra-intense environment). Use oil that has the specified ratings. Use a torque wrench on the oil drain plug.

100% agree.... also would like to add that your short trips actually make the oil dirtier quicker so I would definitely stick to this 👆
