After reading several threads on oil filter wrenches, there are many being sold/used. They are 14 flutes/64mm. I noticed that most tools being sold are of three different varieties. One has flutes only, one with notches and flutes, and one is a fork style tool used on housing tabs (see attached images).
One of the better tools being sold is made by MOTIV Tools. Apparently they previously sold a filter tool that had 14 flat flutes and also notches. Their NEW tool has removed the notches and is using only the 14 flat flutes. Apparently this new revised tool was created due to the previous tool breaking filter housing tabs when removing filter housing (see attached image with explanation).
Thoughts?
I did not find this information in any of the threads I read on this subject........
Does anyone have the correct Toyota part # for the OEM filter housing removal tool? Also, a pic of the tool would be great. I'd like to see if the Toyota OEM tool is using the 14 flute style only or 14 flutes WITH notches for tabs.
Thanks!
