I had a light come on telling me the secondary o2 sensor was bad.
I took the sensor off.....it broke in half

Replaced with a down stream o2 sensor from Amazon for $46
Looked at the major parts houses to confirm the part number was correct
It's a denso sensor....stamped denso on it and came in a denso box.

Now I'm getting that the cat efficiency is below the threshold.
Before the light came on there was no problems or indication of anything wrong.

2009 RAV4
2arfe
192k miles

No parts have ever been replaced.

either that sensor is bad or a Chinese knock off made to look like a denso part or it's found a bigger problem. I'm not sure because there was no problems before this sensor went bad.
I don't want to replace the cat at a cost of a grand for a $46 sensor problem

234-4622 Is the part number I purchased

I turn the light off and the codes clear. Drive 80 miles and it comes back

Sounds like the cat is bad. I had the same code on my old 03 toyota matrix xrs. Replaced after cat O2 sensor when cel came on. Reset, drove. 80miles later, it came back. Reset again.. 80miles later, it came back.. Replaced cat with magnaflow universal cat. No more del after reset. Had over 8k on the new cat without cel coming back..recently sold the car. Cel never return..

I would, check the O2 connection again. Maybe try another denso O2 sensor. If Cel still return after reset. Then you have an idea the cat is either clogged, or dead.

The part number you gave is correct, as verified by denso website.
