The P1600 code refers to a decrease in electrical power to the ECU, where it stores memory settings each time the engine is shut off. This might be a problem in the ECU itself, or the supply of electricity to it; might just be a defective battery, dirty electrical connections, or another fault in the wiring (hot of ground).
