P1700 Error Code - Found Cause

Photos attached of the sheared wires and the sensor socket.

First picture, bottom side, there is a partial part number stamped on the connector. Post it here and I can provide the full part number for the connector as well as a list of other Toyota models that may be suitable as donors.
Also, if it is just the wiring that is seared and the connector is intact, there is a way to re-wire the whole thing back together by removing the damaged terminals inside the plug and replacing them with new (or salvaged) terminated wire leads.

As eodgator already said, part number for the plug is 90980-11156.

You can use an aftermarket one with the terminals already attached as proposed, just beware of polarity (not sure if that matters on a sensor) and waterproofing issues. Since you are in a hurry and can get this part quickly, this is an ideal, even if temporary, solution.

The factory way, is to keep the old plug (or buy a new one) and replace the wire/terminals with part number (2x) 82998-12440. These are pre-terminated wires with the seal plugs (that seem to be missing from the aftermarket one).
Here is a similar post I made to another thread: https://www.rav4world.com/forums/94...tions/290277-need-intake-air-temperature-sensor-connector-plug.html#post2629433
And a helpful guide to de-pin and re-pin used connectors: How to de-pin a Toyota wiring harness - 6G Celicas Forums (even if you go the aftermarket way, it may be imperative to de-pin the old connector in order to determine wire colour and thus correct polarity)

The description says the socket itself is waterproof. Once I get it tomorrow I will check it out and see what it looks like. If it doesn't seem very sealed, then I can cake it up with silicone or something to help keep moisture out.
My concern is the lack of "rubber boots" where the wires exit the socket in the back.

Side note: Looking up the 82998-12440 part number, No one shows a darn photo! Sheesh!

"Anyway, you will have to order the wires from Toyota as well (2x "82998-12440") to use with your new plug. As far as I can see, they come with pre-crimped terminals and rubber seals.

From the look of the connector wire pigtail and the wires sticking out of your harness they are all the same color so there shouldn't be a polarity issue. You can confirm by looking closer at the wires and make sure they are identical.
One looks darker than the other to me. But I will try to find the circuit on a diagram to confirm. In the meantime, if anyone else with an automatic transmission could take a look (and a photo preferably), that would be definitely helpful.

EDIT: Found the diagram here: https://drive.google.com/drive/fold...m/drive/folders/0B61gpLoGBEPNdXM5SURja2pqWUk?docId=0B61gpLoGBEPNazBwdGNFMFh4c3c (filename: EWD (Electrical Wiring Diagrams).pdf, page 131/188)
According to this, one wire (wire "1") is white with red stripe and the other one (wire "2") yellow with red stripe (V3, vehicle speed sensor front).
Now, jump to page 135/188, there is a picture of the connector (V3 black). Here you can see which socket in the connector receives the "1" and which one receives the "2". Mark the wires on the connector you bought accordingly and you SHOULD be safe.

I have attached a close up photo of the socket with the part number.
Just for verification, on the picture of the old socket the numbers "1" and "2" are clearly marked, if you need to double check the polarity of the new socket.
