An acquaintance is service manager for a dealership which sells GM and Chrysler made vehicles and says that nearly all of the paint quality and durability problems which he sees involve white types of paint. I doesn't appear that white is the most popular color here so that likely doesn't account for the stastical situation.

I Just got off the phone with Toyota filing a complaint about my 2011 Highlander Limited in Blizzard Pearl - roof paint is peeling.

I was told by the customer service rep that Toyota has just issued a statement that they will be addressing the concerns of owners for certain vehicles, particularly the RAV4, Avalon, Camry, Forerunner and Corolla ... all in white.

I'm not sure why the Highlander has not made the list (yet).

What the remediation or when was not disclosed but supposedly they will be addressing.

Let's see.

If Toyota were to address this problem constructively and in a timely manner for affected owners that would a a large plus in their customer service playbook, especially given their denials in the past. Will be interesting to see what they do - when we wish to buy another vehicle that would work to help to sway our decision.
