for LE/XLE/SE there is a problem finding a good phone holder.

Did anyone try just putting velcro behind the 7-8" console, attaching a long bar to it that sticks out a little to the left of the console, and gluing a magnet to it that then the phone would connect to?

hm. $40. I can do that for like $12 (including the magnet)... But yeah that kind of thing. I think I will try making it.

See, I like the idea of ProClip but it sits fairly low and to the right. I thought that the placement of the phone at the top left side of the console would be perfect.

My phone (Moto G5 Plus) refuses to work with Android Auto.

Burns a cup holder but check out WeatherTech CupFone holders. You own a premium vehicle, no scoffing at the $37 price tag!

In newer Rav4s the cup holders are way too far back for this to work, unfortunately.
