hey all, first post in here. i usually work on mazda rotaries and am not very experienced with boinger (piston engine) internals. the car has ~75k miles on it and i've done all the regular maintainence (besides the auto trans at the dealer) myself since i acquired it.
i noticed my exhaust tone at idle sounded odd. so, i remembered hearing about putting a dollar bill up to the exhaust to test for a valve leak. i did that and the bill sucked in and out of the tail pipe. another thing i noticed is *sometimes* the engine will shake slightly at idle, which i can feel from inside the car.
does this have something to do with the variable valve timing? do i need to adjust/shim the valves? the car drives very well otherwise.
