my power steering reservoir is continuously losing the fluid, not sure which part of the system it is. Does anyone know how to locate a leak and how to fix it on a 2000 Rav4?

You could use UV dye and a blacklight if you have them. Otherwise, you'll have to visually check each component and see which is wet.

You are putting DEXRON ll or lll automatic transmission fluid in there and not power steering fluid I hope or you may very well destroy all your seals and more.

It's a DIY and Easy. Clean your RAV4 under your engine. Especially where you think the leak is coming from. Wait until dry. Take a square piece of rubber mat. It's about three feet by three feet and a half inch thick, or anything similar. Lift the RAV4 and remove all the splash guard from under your RAV4. Place the flash light next to your cellphone on top of the mat under your RAV4 so it can record. Turn on your RAV4 and have someone turn the steering wheel side to side. Mean while, you will be moving the mat and recording everything that is happening. Put your cellular phone on cellfy mood so you can see what you are recording. Once you have a few minutes pull it from under your RAV4 and see where its leaking.
