So

Congrats bud. Is that with convenience package price? What was OTD as i am in same county as u are. Did u got it from Garden Grove? Congrats again .
For those that are in SoCal, I just signed on an XLE

MSRP 31.3
Sales price 29,944
0% Finance

They attempted the bait and switch, quoted me 29.9 on email. When I arrived they tried to charge me for dealer add ons that were “already on the car, they have to charge” (Security system, ceramic wax, interior coating) total of around 3K.

I told them I am not paying anything for the add ons, if you want time to sign I will gladly for 29.944.

After the spoke back and forth for 5 minutes they agreed.
what was the total after taxes and fees?

Bought my car on Friday after spending about a week texting 4-5 dealers and bidding them against each other. I think my vehicle price was pretty good. What do you guys think?

Year: 2020
Trim: Hybrid XSE
FWD or AWD: AWD
Color: Blizzard Pearl with Black Roof
Options:
  • Weather package
  • XSE Tech package
  • Premium Audio, with Nav and JBL
  • Pano Roof
  • Roof Rack Cross Bars
  • Rear Bumper Applique
  • Mudguards
  • All Weather Liners
  • Blackout Emblem Overlays
  • Special Color (Blizzard Pearl)
MSRP: $39,937
Invoice Price (if known): $38,061
Sales Price (excluding doc fee, tax, title, license): $37,250 w/ 0% for 60 months
Sales Taxes: $3,762.5 (10.1%)
Fees: $150 Doc Fee, $196 Additional Tax, $520 License
Others: $2,000 for 10-year, 125K Zurich Comprehensive Package Service Contract
OTD: $43,878.25
State: WA

Did get sold on the comprehensive Zurich service plan, but negotiated that down to $2,000 (cost to dealer is $1900 according to the finance manager). Figured $33.33/month was worth the peace of mind in case any of the many, many electrical, sensing or other systems break or malfunction, I am covered. Plus I have 29 more days to cancel for a full refund if I change my mind. Anyone else have thoughts on the Zurich Comprehensive?

I did the Costco price online and I negotiate at the dealership as well. They drop the costco deal and quoted me OTD for 32,600. I try to negotiating again, but they did not budge and I walked out. Next day, I texted a different sales person ( original person i wanted to work with, but could not because I came thru the internet sales and got assigned a different sales agent) the price I wanted and he helped me pushed it again to my original sales agent & manager. They said 31,700, I stood firm and said 31,500 or Lower for me to come thru the door.

Hi Everyone

This is my first post here and I wanted to acknowledge how helpful this thread has been in my search for the perfect deal on a Rav4 Hybrid. I'm looking at dealerships in the eastern MO area and recently test drove an XSE Hybrid. The sales manager tried to tell me that they have a lot of demand for the hybrids. On a Friday afternoon visit I observed around ten customers on the lot and inside.

The most compelling offer I've received is below. If you have any feedback or questions please let me know (particularly around the dealer's delivery processing fee as that seems high). I'm not particularly interested in purchasing added protection for the vehicle via extended warranty. Being new to Toyotas, I wonder if that is that foolish or sensible?

Year: 2020
Trim: XSE Hybrid
Color: Blueprint/Midnight Blue Metallic
FWD or AWD: AWD

Included Options:
  • All-Weather Floor Liners ($269)
  • Weather Package ($375)
  • Mudguard ($129)
  • Body Side Molding ($209)
  • HP LED Fog lights ($169)
Base Model MSRP: $34,300
Invoice Price (if known): Estimating ~ $32,500
Sales Price (excluding tax, title, license): $36,571

Fees & Taxes:
  • Delivery Processing and Handling ($1,120) - included in sales price
  • Tax, Titles, Registration & Tags (Estimating ~$2500)
Dealer Add-Ons (extended warranty, tint, paint protectant, etc):
  • 4 year/45,000 mile routine maintenance ($0)
  • 1 year tire/wheel/windshield/paint protection ($0)
  • 1 year exterior protection ($0)
  • Option to receive a free vacation or extend powertrain warranty to 10 year/100K miles ($0)
City and State Where You Purchased: Eastern MO

OTD : Estimating ~$38,000 (if I negotiate sales price down) to 39,000 (no sales price change) with 0% Financing and 3 month deferral.

Few things while negotiating:

  1. SET is a legal mafia
  2. Some packages like Toyoguard is a negotiations bait, use it with caution
  3. Some dealers think they can hide the packages. They are dinosaurs waiting to be steam rolled. They hate this forum.
  4. Toyota VIN lookup lists all factory installed packages

Also curious too, my price was very close to this, with a few more accessories. Also bought in MD.
I got it from Darcars in Silver Spring! Your price point is the same as mine with the included the roof rack and guard. They did not want to add the rack for me haha. Good job on the price :)

Darcars Silver Spring!
Wow they knocked a lot off that price. CarMax in Laurel was about $2,800 off on a Limited (though think lower stock probably drove that). I was going to tell my brother in the area to go to CarMax for his Prius Prime, but might have to try both dealers now.

Are they giving any discounts off the Prius Prime? I rarely see any in my area (NC)

Don't know yet, but I imagine they aren't the most popular vehicle right now with cheap gas. Think I saw somewhere (Consumer Reports?) that dealers are offering the largest incentives on the Prius Prime. Maryland is one of these ZEV states, so they have a good number of them.
