question, 2000 rav4 4x4 auto trans with ps rear popping noise sometimes..
I did the shocks, dif mount isolators...
could this noise be on the adjustments for the castor camber bushings and bolts bad??
it just sounds like a ridge in a bolt...
I saw another post where they are having issues with 1996 and the front mount for the lower trailing arm..
yea I just think I might need to blast the parts off and replace the bushings and bolts..
any thoughts?

Ah! If it happens occasionally when turning or braking hard then it’s the two bolts securing the steering rack to the subframe. Had this issue recently with mine!
This is the noise: IMG_2829.MOV

And this is the write up on how to fix it:

Need to put it up on a rack and check everything. Including U-joints, etc.
Any of the new bushing urethane? I hear they are noisy.
no on the u-thane
yup on u joints
when I had the diff out I had the drive shafts off as well making sure.
and yes I marked the shafts.

I have not taken off the bushings and bolts for the lower trail arm yet
(the part under the coil spring)
I did check the springs for damage, as well as the rubber isolator on top of the spring..
I kinda thought it was that isolator I did unload it and checked it real close.

juicing up the bolts and letting them soak for the next few days.
I need to get me an bolt induction heater..
I should be shooting video on this..
no good camera yet
if you want to donate I am at
the links are there.
yea most of the stuff I work on are not the run of the mill issues..
they have been to the stealerships as well as to the other pro shops in the area with no luck.

I kinda like that!! GRIN!!
I get to put the cape on most days!! lol
but I do not have any hair left on top...
this one is a good one for sure!! down to the last few things it can be...

it almost sounds like a body panel pop when it does it..
I saw where one other poster had the front mounts on the rear arm were torn out or shot..
that is where I am looking...
I still think it maybe those bolts to the sleeve on those bushings...
grooves warn then popping when it gets up on the top of the ridge then snap drops back down..

there is a lot of force at that point....
more later when I get it apart!
