What are the recommendations for the quietest and softest riding tires? All-weather capability not required.
A lot of the tires recommended here are high mileage tires which I don't recommend unless you drive over 20k miles each year as you'll need to replace a high mileage tire after 5 years anyway. High mileage tires also have a negative impact on fuel efficiency. I had some high mileage Michelins on a prior vehicle and I had to toss them after 5 years due to dry rot, I also lost about 3-4 mpgs too.

If you want a quiet and comfortable tire for highway driving, I recommend the Yokohama Geolander X-CV. They have a 50k mile warranty and do not impact fuel economy negatively. They are well constructed tires, which they have to be in order to get their W rating.

To make sure I understand, does your recommendation apply to R4 Hybrids too?

Just couple cents about topic.
I don't think Yokohama Geolander X-CV can be used on Rav4. It doesn't exists in small sizes. Smallest one is 255/55R18 which is too wide (Rav4 sizes are 225/65R17 or 225/60R18). Geolander CV G058 will fit, but I have no idea how good it is.

Is available in 235/55R19 which is OEM Prime size.

Unless you go for larger rims, the Geolandar doesn't fit the smaller stock hybrid rims. But in general I wouldn't recommend a long tread life tire for a hybrid unless you don't care about losing 3 to 4 mpg. Chances are you won't take advantage of a long life tire unless you do a lot of driving. In five years, you should be replacing your tires anyway.
