Hi! Newbie here.

Bought the perfect Rav for us, XA30 2012 with all the things apart from DAB.

This firmware thread caught my eye a while back and the link is good for firmware. I'm just wondering if there was a DAB module that one could buy for the 59029 (86140-0W010) unit that would plug and play?

Basically - i want DAB in my 2012 mk3 RAV! I'll consider aftermarket units if it's not possible to stick with Toyota.

Any suggestions welcome!

As you can see, this is the unit we have in the thing at the moment. The XA30 did get a radio with DAB on it, so there must be some way to add it on to this unit. How hard can it be?!

If there's a firmware that has DAB support, then you can try to upgrade the headunit through the USB port, assuming your 2012 has one. In the US, I don't know how widely is HD radio adoption, though certain higher end aftermarket radios do have the HD tuner. You may want to check Toyota Owners Club since it's Europe-based.

Thanks, mate - yes i'll copy paste to the European/UK boards too.

About the firmware support (regardless of DAB/HD), I've used a blank USB stick per the official Toyota instructions and downloaded the latest appropriate firmware to the stick - followed the steps for in-car installation - authentication failed. Checked the firmware version and it's still in the 1.5.1 region so mega old.

Ah well, i will press on!
