Hey all, my wife and I are new here. This seems like the place to be for all RAV owners, glad we found you. We're a young family (myself 22, wife 23, daughter 8.5months) and are ready for our first new car that is more family oriented than our 1999 ford escort--I'm sick of bonking my head, hugging the steering wheel, and losing my voice. We've test driven a lot of SUVs and I've done tons of research and it came down to the CRV or RAV4---we all know there's no match there---the RAV dominates!!

We have an 06 RAV base I4 w/ third seat option on order. It will have the 17'' alloys and all the airbags as well. Just wondering how you "experts" think we are doing on the price. The stealership (read this on some of the posts and thought it was brilliant) says after taxes and all fees we'll be right at $25,000. They also said that is the best they can/will do considering the high demand for this vehicle right now. Does that sound reasonable? Any help would be much appreciated. Also, thank you all very much for the loads of information on the RAV's.

Many dealers in my area responded to my requests for offer that they charge MSRP on RAV4. The invoice is at least 2000 lower and that would be a good deal if you could get it.

Make sure you are not paying MSRP. The best I could do was $1000 below MSRP but I need the car badly.

One funny thing: one dealer in TN stated that they don't make 3rd row as he newer saw it! Another local sales person didn't believe me that the V6 was rated at 269HP. Total idiots.

Is $25,162 your final total price after all costs (taxes, destination fees, etc.)?

We got ours for about $25,800 before tax. It's the limited 4-6 4wd with the third row, better stereo and side airbags. We did a lot of shopping around, internet quotes etc. We were looking for a base model as we didn't need the extra gadgets, but when we say this one and worked in the price we had to spend the little extra and get it.

It seems like I'm in the ballpark then. Before taxes and fees we will be right at $23,500. The dealer says we are getting 1000 the sticker. It sounds like you're doing pretty good though with your Limited. I can't wait till ours gets here!!

Price it out on edmunds.com
We paid right around the price listed as "what others are paying", which was right in the middle of MSRP and invoice.

Check out Edmunds.com. They have a forum for the Rav as well. There is a forum there called Prices Paid and Buying experience.

Sory for the mixup, I thought your figure was before the tax. After I reread your post, I edited mine.

Yes, sales tax and registration costs vary widely from state to state, so without an estimate on what these are for your state, it his hard to accurately compare.

Hi folks, here in Hawaii the demand for the 06' Rav4 are high. The Toyota dealership and the only one here are only offering 3 to 5 hundred dollars discount from msrp. You guys in the mainland get better deals than here. Just ordered my 06' RAV4 limited 2wd V6 with 3rd row seats for $26,300 plus tax and license. :?
