Recently, I have noticed a small sideways hop when my rear tire goes through a dip in the pavement like a manhole cover that is lower than the pavement. Instead of tracking smooth and straight, the rear end seems to hop sideways a little. I feel it when I'm going over 30. I had a 4 wheel alignment, but it still does it. Not every time, but often. I searched this sight a little but didn't know what to search for. It's a 2011 base 2.5 FWD with 51000 miles.

Any ideas? TIA

The problem could be due to a failing shock absorber or absorbers in the rear suspension. Suggest having a look underneath to see whether there is any sign of a leak or leaks. Hopefully this diagram from a 2016 post will be helpful:
