Hello,
Battery of my RAV4 2007 is so dead can't even open the door. I only have one key. That key doesn't work on the mechanical lock on the door. Could anyone please suggest what should I do?

Try spraying the door key hole with WD40 to see if it can free things up inside. If the door lock is frozen then use door lock de-icer. You can also heat up the key with a lighter.

Is the key the wrong one for the lock or is it just broken/not working? If the former, yeah a locksmith is your only option (short bashing out a window!). If it’s the latter some of the other ideas proposed might work.

If you use a locksmith have him make a working key or fix the lock while you’re at it.

Does your RAV has a trailer socket? There is a permanent live (12V) there. I bought a spare trailer plug so I can connect a battery charger to the trailer socket to charge the battery. Then after you have charged for a while it should be possible to open the door.

Really? My wife's '02 has THREE keyholes, including the one on the back door.

I would not have thought that Toyota would cheap out that much by eliminating a couple of door locks.

You are on the Gen3 forum so only 1 key hole for these cars. The Gen2 has 3 key hole.
