yesterday, i purchased second hand driven 192,000 in qatar.
the previous owner told that he already changed timebelt 145,000.
He says i should change belt on 300,000.

can anybody advise when the car of qatar model (its alltime 4wheel) should timebelt be changed.

what about my car, when should i change! along with belts, what other things should i change to avoid labor/service charges.

Most say they timing belt needs to be changed at 100,000, though Toyota tells says 160,000 is OK.....so who knows..

Its worth changing the water pump the same time you do the belt............it would save quite a bit in labour

The engine is non-interference so if it breaks when you are driving, nothing detrimental will happen like the pistons and valves crashing together. I would think you could easily get 100,000+ miles, but I would change the belt every 5-6 years no matter what the mileage.
