Hey guys,
So I was browsing the internet today when I discovered that some RAV4s came with this climate control module:

Currently in my RAV4, I have this control module:

Is there anyway to swap them out? I’m extremely curious!

Most likely not. One is electric and the other cable controlled.

True, but theoretically you could just swap over all of the electronics correct? What all would you need?

Well, it’s actually not that bad. After digging around, I think the HVAC box is the same for both auto climate and Manila climate, you’ll need to add a temp sensor and sunlight sensor on the dash and wire up the stepper motors that go in place of the arms that are manual actuated by cables. The recirculate controls are already digital and controlled by a motor.

there would be some other small parts that I think are slightly different but shouldn’t be too bad, a lot of parts are shared with other vintage cars, similarly the older Camry and es300

Sweet, that would be awesome! Would you be able to put a parts list, if possible, into this forum? I’m hoping to help others out if they also want to try doing this
