We own a 2010 Sport edition which I know has the stiffer ride. Does anyone know if both the spring rate and shocks are different from base? Could it be just stiffer springs and oem shocks? Also are these shocks a gas adjust? Thinking of purchasing KYB Gas adjust but if the Rav already comes with gas there’s no good reason too. Please advise. Thanks,

Yes the Sport suspension is very different from all the other models. If you don't want the stiff suspension change the coils/struts/shocks to the Base/Limited model from Toyota. KYB does not have the Gas Adjust for your model but only on the Gen2 models. KYB have the Excel G shocks for the shocks and struts. The KYB is firm (firmer then Base /Limited shocks/strut) like all aftermarket parts but not as firm as the Sport or Bilistein. Go with Toyota Base/Ltd struts and shocks for a softer OEM ride. Just changing the strut and shocks will not be good enough and you need to change the rear coil spring (except the front). Note there are many coil springs including ones for the third row seating so be careful (stiffest springs). For a more softer ride go with 17 inch tires that are 65 series.

Shock firmness:
Sport> Bilstein> KYB > Base/Limited Toyota (Tokico)
