As the 2006 model is now getting in the hands of consumers, I'm really curious to see if how well the mileage claims hold up in the real world -- especially for the V6. For those of you tracking it, please post your mileage results here...

Thanks,
Benny

Why would they drop the 5-speed for the 4 cylinder 2006?!

prolly because not enough people wanted them.. Manufactures are in business for profit. They are not gonna spend $$ to federalize a drivetrain combo (manual trans) if they do not sell enough of them to make it cost effective.

Real mpg...

Hi, I'm new to the forum and I'm also interested in other people's "real world" MPG results.

I have a 2006 4WD Sport and I tend to have a lead foot. In almost all city driving I've calculated 20.52 mpg and 21.83 mpg (2 tanks of gas). I had the moonroof and windows open quite a bit with the first tank as it was pretty warm in St. Louis a few weeks ago.

Is it true that after the engine breaks in that gas mileage should increase a ilttle?

Thanks!
Scrubby
