Another question I have on my 2017 Rav4 Limited...Previously had a question on a carrier which I appreciated the answers..I have one other (I hope)..There are 2 rear sonar sensors on the bumper that act
the same as front sensors and am wondering with the loaded carrier (Suit cases) how will this effect the
operation of these sensors...I know I will loose the effect but what if anything happens when both sensors
are faced with this carrier full of luggage..I expect nothing except when I put the car in reverse...Will these sensors activate and stay that way until I get out of reverse..Is there anything I need to do except listen
to the alert warning..???..Would once again appreciate any input....Many Thanks

According to your owners manual there are different ways to disable the audible output, depending on how many sensors your RAV has.

Since you mentioned you have 2 sensors on the rear, I will assume you have the 4 sensor system. Here is an image from your owners manual describing how to turn off the 4 sensor system. If you have something other than this system, you can find more information starting on page 277 of your owners manual, or look up "Intuitive Parking" in the index.

Yes! And Rick should be brought on board by Toyota as a technical consultant and customer service specialist as well as technical resources advisor for Toyota dealership service departments.

I might be reading that wrong, but I think that adds up to 8 sensors. So depending on if you have navigation or not, the muting procedure could be one of these.

You are absolutey correct., There are 8 sensors..I did follow instructions as I should have done in the first place and have now the lowest volumn alert..Quite different than the loudest...Thank you so much...
