I was looking at my Toyota App today and saw the Paid Services Remote Services is about to expire. I look up the cost and it is $80 a year or $8 a month. I didn't see any of the features I just could not live without. The only one I might use would be the remote start and that is programmed into the Key FOB. Man apple Car Play can give me directions along with the WAZE app.

What is the opinion of the users here on the boards?

I let mine expire. The only function I used was the tire pressure monitor, and it didn't even work quite right - although it was better than nothing I suppose.. Not worth $80.00 a year though.

Google maps is so much better with real time traffic, etc than anything else out there.

I may be incorrect but I think you loose the whole thing. The Toyota app still works - for things like service schedules and recalls, etc.

Do all the feature of the Toyota App go away or just some of them?

I can't see myself using the remote start. I live in an area where it rarely goes below 40F.
I dropped my subscription a few months ago.
The app still works, but you can't use the start feature. The tire pressure, and mileage indicator will still give you a reading.
I don't miss the auto start feature. If I want to start it remotely, I just go to the window, and push the lock button on the fob three times.

These are the only things I see myself using it for. I've never forget where I've parked my car. Well not yet anyways (lol). So I'll let mine expire when the time comes.

I plan on renewing but want to know by renewing Remote Connect, does the Toyota App also update. It would be nice if they just had one App that included all of the features.
Connected services are linked to the VIN which is required for app function, so yes, the Remote Connect Service apps will update.

I renewed mine last June just as a way of double checking that I locked it mainly, I do it so automatically usually and seldom remember doing it, have been distracted(wife!!!) after exiting the car before, just another old timer aid for me. Right now it's pretty much useless since I haven't driven for over a week now, and don't really know when I will again.

Yes, when I first had the car, somehow I pressed hatch open on the key fob at work. I probably sat on the FOB. I got a text and an email alert. I shut the hatch, it rained a few minutes later. When I say it rained, it rained in South Florida during the summer. It would have totaled the car⛈ for me. Remote connect and the auto braking features have already paid for themselves. All of this technology only has to work once to be worth it, especially the auto braking features.

^^^^ The car tells you if you left a window open when you open the door to get out.

How in the heck can you even get a hold of Toyota by phone to cancel the safety connect automatic reoccurring payment from a credit card? You can't do it online either. I've got 2 free years plus a year I paid for, so it won't expire until 2023, but I don't want Toyota charging my card until then, if at all by then. In fact, they should've charged me until 2022 since the first 2 years are free. Grrrrrrr! I've been given nothing but the run around by Toyota, that I've got the wrong number, even though the number is on the contract. They give me another number, but it's also the wrong number. I'm almost to the point of calling my bank and telling them I want to de-authorize the automatic payment to Toyota and let them freak out in May. I don't use the app either because I have an Android phone and it's worthless on my 2019 Rav4.

Suggest you contact your credit card company/bank that issues you the card and explain to them the situation. Let them cancel the automatic payment. My bank USAA would do that in a heartbeat.

Yeah, I was looking through the service agreement and discovered that the box for automatic renewal was checked. Either I didn't see it was checked by default or I checked it by mistake back when I signed on the dotted line. I'm an idiot or blind. Either way, I shouldn't have to pull out my fingernails trying to work with Toyota to cancel it until a later date, IF I decide to renew, which I'm not looking to do so right now. It just so happens that the part of Toyota that deals with this conveniently happens to be down for maintenance, online and on the phone. If they don't get it back up soon, I'll then talk to my credit card company about stopping the payment. This is why I usually DON'T do automatic payments unless I have to, because they make it so easy to start, but make you go through hell to stop them.
