My mirror got clipped by some bozo who couldn't drive down our street straight. And who, of course, did not stop to leave a note.

Is there a good replacement brand that you might recommend rather than buying a factory part from Toyota? Kool Vue? Some other brand? Would it be a fairly simple thing to figure out how to replace it myself once I have the part, or should I enlist a professional?

My deductible is $500, and the factory part+labor would be about $400. Trying to see if I can do it myself, and for less.

Sorry to hear as well. You may feel different but I would stay away from the Kool Vue. I tried them and the mirror image was very distorted and caused me a lot of problems in judging distance. You can try them just make sure you can return them easy enough.
