So, I just got a pair of body-colored mirror cover sint he mail today.

So I experimented with removing the original ones.

Thing is, while I could remove them, I can't seem to put them back in properly. Can someone please guide me with the proper way, so that I wouldn't mess things up when I put on the new body-colored covers.

Attached below is a photo of the original cover.

Thanks In Advance,

Alister

Hey Alister, I think that you should try taking it out again and before snapping it back into place, make sure there's nothing in the way. I looked at my Haynes manual, but there's nothing on that. Wish I could be of more help.

Sorry for the late reply.

It's all good now, managed to snap on the new ones with no issues.

I broke a clip in the old unpainted driver's side cover, which explained why it couldn't pop back in properly, making me worried in the process (After experimenting with removing something off the car for the first time.).

Looks good, I like how the color-coded covers make my mirror look smaller (As there's less of the unpainted material.), plus it also gives me more area for me to apply a layer of wax, heheh.

Some shots (Did it right after class at uni, as I was bored, a little too bored.)

Thanks! :D I got them off eBay (From a Toyota dealer based in Adelaide, just right next door to the state I live in.) for a total of AU$89 (Including shipping.) The passenger's side (Left) was listed for AU$10, so it was a deal I couldn't miss out on, and I managed to get the driver's side (Right) at trade price, AU$59.
