trutheart: using the screen under the cowling guarantees the rodents do not get into the interior.

yes, if it worked perfectly, stopping the ingress to the cowling would be better, but it is plastic, and many examples of rodents chewing through it.

so I'll do the screen on the intake and stop rodents getting for sure, and watch the cowl (and I stuff bounce sheets nearby and that has stopped all rodents in my last THREE electric vehicles.

That's why to do the intake vent... I have indeed had a dead rodent on top of my filter in my previous BEV and it stunk.

agreed... to prevent mice from pissing into your cabin and dying on top of the filter and really stink up your car, the intake vent is sufficient.

to stop them from entering the cowl is harder, and if you can do it really well, I would think better.

But I've seen them chew through the plastic, so you hope that the cowl deterrents are enough...

I've got the intake screen and bounce sheets stuffed into the cowl... calling that done.
