There is a whopping 9 pages of everything you need to know about removing your roof rails. I ordered my parts this week and am waiting for them to arrive. I took the cross bars off within an hour of having the car home from the dealer...

Anyone know how to remove the roof racks? Dealer said they "didn't know how"????

I saw your post in the other thread, and I now get what you are asking. Also, if your dealer doesn't know how to remove the crossbars, it may be time to look for a new dealer. They are absolutely removable without removing the rails. The video below shows how the latching mechanism operates. The round plastic "key" should, hopefully, be in your glovebox. Otherwise, you may have to get creative with a pair of needlenose pliers or some such tool.
