New RAV4 owner, purchased a 2019 XLE model with existing problems:
  • Safety Connect not functioning (no lights)
  • Microphone not functioning
  • Passenger front speakers not functioning
  • Toyota App not connecting the vehicle
Visited my dealer and maintenance used Tech Tip T-TT-0516-18, which not only corrected the Safety Connect. But, also corrected everything else ... interesting how one component affects a lot others.

The dealer that I frequently visit, did not know about this bulletin. But, the dealer that I purchased the vehicle from, did. I have attached it for everyone's reference if anyone is experiencing this issue. This bulletin reflects other models as well.

My 2019 is at the dealer now for this issue and they tried the Tech Tip/battery disconnect and it didn't fix it so they gave a loaner while they try to figure it out. Still no SOS lights and microphone so I will update when and if they figure it out.

I am going through the same thing right now. Thanks for all the tips.
