So basically, this LSC expands 22TE09 to include Primes that have the older or not current cables and now they get a 10 year warranty. I've got to print this stuff out no it can't be refuted if there's ever a problem. The campaign mentions the cable warranty is 10 years and unlimited mileage after the fix. Nice.
Excellent! Video shows everything: parts used, procedure, etc. Thanks!the procedure.
The 10 year warranty is from Date Of First Use (of the car). It is not from date of repair. The 10 year warranty clock started ticking on the date the car was first sold. So if you have a 2021, about 4 of those 10 years are already gone.So great info guys, thanks. Looks like no rush to get this done (before Oct 2028) based on the .pdf to get the 2 additional years of warranty.
So the dealers are saying you have to leave the car all day for what looks like a pretty short job (based on the video), which is annoying. On top of that, with the chance some corrosion has already set in, wouldn't you be relying on the tech to remove ALL of it before doing the fix?
Honestly, I’m tempted to just wait until 2028 before doing this and see if it gets bad enough to replace the whole cable first instead.
Yes, I am aware. The 10 year warranty is from Date Of First Use (of the car). It is not from date of repair. The 10 year warranty clock started ticking on the date the car was first sold. So if you have a 2021, about 4 of those 10 years are already gone.
How about thinking of it as adding 7 years extra to the 3/36.The 10 year warranty is from Date Of First Use (of the car). It is not from date of repair. The 10 year warranty clock started ticking on the date the car was first sold. So if you have a 2021, about 4 of those 10 years are already gone.
But it is just the rear motor cable that is warranted for the 7 extra years. How about thinking of it as adding 7 years extra to the 3/36.for a 23 Prime.
Yes. Before yesterday, I'm owning a 23 Prime with 9k miles. Next May the 3 years is up. I was debating whether to get Toyota Care for it but I didn't see the point when there would be a 6k part that I can not get a warranty for. This changes everything and now I can get Toyota Care and have a car that will be for the most part warrantied until 2033. I don't even think I'll go over 80k miles. How much is that going to cost me? Maybe 1k, well worth it IMO. What a difference a day makes. But it is just the rear motor cable that is warranted for the 7 extra years.
IIRC, you were getting the AM radio problem, should be a good outcome for you.Ohhh wow. I just called toyota corporate and the dealer. Both confirmed in the last few weeks coverage has been changed to 10 yrs unlimited miles for this repair. I told them my situation. How i tried to repair myself and they said if we can see the corrosion need for new cable it should be covered. That being said i have to bring it it and have them check it next week and go from there. But GODDDAMNNN cant believe this all happened in the last few weeks after i checked and cleaned this thing and installed a cable warden. I will need a new cable eventually. So i gotta remove the cable warden and have them check it see what they say
