I’m not sure if this has been answered but I’ve done extensive digging and haven’t found a solid answer. I disconnected the subwoofer found in my trunk and have taken off the body panel to access the JBL amplifier but am not sure if I’m able to simply add a sub into the channel where the disconnected sub currently is plugged into. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am a first time car owner.

I’m not sure if I worded it right but I also need to know which wires go to the subwoofer

You should be able to. Just check the amp wattage and get a sub that fits the range.
I don't know for certain though with it being a factory JBL amp.

That JBL amp works with the JBL radio. This is because your JBL radio is different than the standard one since it has extra connectors to the JBL amp. Using a different amp would mean you need to cut the wires at the amp side. You need to check the wiring to figure out all the connections and know what you are doing. The repair manual on this site should be downloaded.
