Swapping factory cloth seat covers for factory Softex seat covers?

My wife's 2014 Toyota Prius had the Softex (fake leather) seats - which did not hold up very well. Researching replacement covers for her car - quotation from the Toyota dealer for just the front two seats was close to $2k. Instead - I found real leather at Custom Leather Seat Covers, Car Seats, & Leather Auto Interiors | Katzkin - which uses a "preferred installer" network for installation and sales. I was able to cover the two front seats, center arm rest and the two rear seats for less than $1,000.00. I did that about 2 years ago - and the seats still look brand new.

How long did you guys have the sofTex seats for before they went bad?
About 4 years. The driver bolster was the trigger - which we took in to our Toyota Dealer during the initial 3 yr warranty period. It had delaminated - the dealer attibuted it to normal wear and tear, i.e., not a warranty item. Now - about 3 years later - I just had the car fully detailed (which included cleaning and preppring the leather seats) and they still look brand new...
