Hi all,

If I go for a surf, I hide my FOB in the car and lock it with the manual key.
Will someone be able to start the car if they smash a window and gain entry?

Of course if your FOB is closer enough for starting the car. You can easily try it. You may be able to disable the FOB before hiding it. Mine is by pressing and holding Close then pressing Open twice.

Very likely if it's a Smartkey(keyless start) depending on where it's hidden, here in North America a Smartkey fob can be disabled by holding the lock button down and pressing the unlock button twice. Press any key to enable it again.

Thanks - I'll try using the battery saving mode to disable the smart key function. I thought maybe the car cannot be started if the alarm has been activated, although I have no way to test this!
