HEAR YE, HEAR YE: SLAMMERS, TUNERS, RACERS, LIFTERS:

Now I just know I'm about to make a whole bunch of people's day.
The search is over. Yes. Coil-overs, specifically made for the 1994-2000 RAV4 SXA10/11 models.

Endlessly customizable, of seemingly good quality, and reasonably affordable. This is not an ad or sponsorship. I represent Hiro Performance in no way. Doing some back-and-forth email regarding tech-specs and what custom/made-to-order options are actually available for this particular kit. I will update as it comes along. I'm planning a review in the near future if everything looks good... -and the shipping to Hawaii isn't going to bankrupt me lol. Here it is:

This is neat, good find. I have concerns if the picture is representative of the actual setup, are the rears coil over spring? Our rear suspension is not designed that way and could be a problem if it is the case.

Anyway, I am curious to hear more!
Great, I'd be interested in the fronts as I need more caster. The rears won't work as the damper mounts aren't designed for any serious load. Not that those even look like they'd fit.

I suspect that is a stock image as any other car you put in shows the same image on their site. They also state that rear camber plates aren't available due to rear suspension design. I have hope in them yet.

After some deliberation and so much help from Yoshi, their awesome customer service representative, I've settled on my game plan. They're custom fabricating a 1-2" Lift kit which will be about equivalent to bone-stock height, with the added bonus of upwards mobility if I need some more clearance for bigger tires. All in all, about $1200 + $100 for Hawaii shipping.

The picture I included in my original post is a placeholder image, not representative of the product. They're a relatively new outfit and don't have per-model photos yet. Expect actual pictures and a review in the near future!

I'm not saying they're rubbish or poor quality, but i want you to ask precion question on money back warranty if it wrecks for "any" reason.
Just want you to see what happened to me with a similar product that apparently had a 5year warranty & raving reviews. Warranty was refused as they could not locate the sales invoice from their end-despite me flapping the comprehensive sales receipt in their face, but they had no problem taking my money to sell me this pathetically sh!t product.
Im a qualified mechanic & installed these methodically on my car, replaced every bush in the process & i this is a car that i drive & turn corners gently. I also know enough about mild steel & aluminium strengths to know that this level of tear is near impossible even under General Lee 01 rediculously harsh driving conditions.
Obviously you can see that the lower tiedown connection is different, but what i want to know is - really how much testing has gone into this product, does it claim to pass harsh American, Australian, Afghani etc conditions. Have any trusted reviewers commented on this product. Otherwise dont be fooled, they all come out of the same factory in Wuhan next to some wet market.
Good Luck & I hope this product is better than my previous experience

How do you get the clearance for coilovers on the rear of a first generation RAV4? I put air shocks on mine and there is barely any clearance diameter wise.

🤷‍♂️ EXCELLENT question lol. Fitment was assured. Fingers crossed, we'll see. If it's not plug'n'play, I'm probably sending them back. As soon as I have them on hand, I'll drop one of the rears on mine and test-fit. But I also have my eyes on a 4-door 98-00 going to my Navy base car auction soon (need another island beater for the lady, dog, and long surfboard in my life). As long as I have a car for work, I might let a customs body shop try to make it fit in there.

Out of curiosity, who did you order from? What were the product specifics? I'd like to hear more. I'm sorry to hear that. I winced hard at that pic.
My order is a done deal, though. Purchased before the most recent posts on here. My invoices to Hiro Performance showed they were a copyright of Kiyokawa Motors, LLC.
Doing some necessary research before paying out, seems legit. Florida, US-based company. Verified member of SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association). My concern is their newness to the industry, they've only been around about a year, and don't have a very strong social media or marketing presence. But I assure you, I will unleash hell & earth upon them if this is any less than promised -and recant the cautionary tale to you all.

Updated original post with origin of manufacturer (Taiwan). Should have the raw materials breakdown soon. Praying they're of dependable quality steel.

Unfortunate news, their engineers very apologetically informed me they cannot manufacture longer custom shocks for our model. So, getting a $200 refund and proceeding with their custom spring option instead. They can only change the "HLK mount" (Height adjustment locking rings, I assume?) and substitute in 8KG springs which are longer. Their "Standard" kit coilover springs are 236mm and they will change them to 310mm ones. But now they're asking for my current spring measurements. Uncompressed. But I don't want to give them inaccurate measurements of tired, old, probably never before replaced springs. And combing the forums for spring specs has yielded bubkis.

I went on O'Reilly's and found an "Import Direct Coil Spring Set" front and rear (which says it's for AWD, 215/70R16) with measurements and rates listed in the description. It seems the fronts are uprated and the rears are downrated. Hmmm... here they are:
Import Direct SpecificationsFRONT SpringsRear Springs
Inside Diameter6-3/16in / 156mm4in / 102mm
Outside Diameter7-5/16in / 185mm5-1/8in / 130mm
Bar Size9/16in / 14mm9/16in / 13mm
Installed Height8-1/2in / 215mm7-1/2in / 190mm
Free Height13-7/8in / 351mm10-1/16in / 255mm
Spring Rate154lbs/in300lbs/in
Load825lbs762lbs

Are these springs compatible with my FWD model? Should I be okay providing these as specs for them to fabricate custom springs? Does anyone have specs of the OEM or aftermarket springs that would get me higher off the ground? Should I just buy my own aftermarket springs for the coilovers? I need help doing this right. For science.

Professor Farnsworth voice Good news, everyone!
After providing HIRO Performance the OEM equivalent spring specs, the engineers now say they CAN manufacturer longer shocks! They'll be constructing them 50mm higher than stock.
Time to park a cooler and chair in the driveway and wait for the delivery truck.

21 days and 30 Coors Banquets later, the coilovers have arrived. At first eye, quality is nice! Good welds, decent rubber boot feel, adjustment and locking rings are tight, hardware and the whole are solid. Lots of padding in the box, but the finish on the strut mounts came off in the triangular edges. I'll touch that up, and probably get some protector rings. Here they are:
Automotive tire Light Camera accessory Camera lens Cameras & optics

Camera lens Digital camera Camera accessory Point-and-shoot camera Lens

Camera lens Reflex camera Bicycle part Digital camera Camera accessory

Camera lens Camera accessory Digital camera Reflex camera Bicycle part

Automotive tire Table Wood Audio equipment Camera accessory

Now to get to work over the long weekend! Can't wait to test fit.

hello everyone, I would very much like to see a photo of this suspension on a car live, if anyone has it please post it here

I'll be (I think) the first person to have all around bespoke coilovers on this model. I'm having my tuning shop install them March 3rd. I'm too busy, and it needs an alignment anyway. Pictures and a review coming soon!
