Date of first use means the day the original owner bought the car, got the keys from the dealer and drove off the lot. Your warranty would expire 10 years from that day, not the end of the year.

Description: Some 2001 – 2003 model year RAV4 vehicles equipped with an automatic transaxle may exhibit a harsh shift condition and/or MIL “ON” with DTC P0750, P0753, P0755, P0758, and/or P1760 stored. Improvements have been made to the Engine Control Module (ECM) (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) manufacturing process to reduce the possibility of this condition occurring.

1. Remove the ECM.
2. Send it to Check Engine, Inc. in Brooklyn -> Service List
3. Get the ECM back in a few days and re-install it into the RAV.
The total cost is about $250.
