A 10 year extended warranty on a 2001 would have expired in 2011 at the latest. It's not clear what a dealer visit in 2013 has to do with it, or why a dealer would be expected to mention the bulletin unless the issue described in it was present at the time - the extended warranty didn't cover replacing anything unless the issue actually occurred. Sorry about you needing to deal with an unexpected major repair, but I don't see Toyota being wrong here for not fixing a 15 year old car for free.
