I have a 1999 and i'm having a problem with timing belt. For the life of me i can not get the belt tight. I followed the procedure and i keep getting the same result. What i'm i missing??? Thanks for any help. Bob

Check this video out it helped when I did mine, I know when I bought a timing belt kit it came with 2 springs for the tensioner so I’d make sure you got the right spring to.

Have you reviewed the roughly ten minutes starting at 1 hour, 27 mins to 1 hour, 37 mins of member Demoder's excellent video?

Also make sure you got the correct kit/belt. And not a cheapo.

Thanks guys and gals that video was great. I went out and installed the belt per the video and all looks good. Been driving it and so far so good. And yes i got the OEM spring for it. Thanks I'll post back with an update.
One last ? how much slack should there be between the oil gear pulley and the tensioner. Thanks for the help. Bob
