Hey guys! I have a 2012 Rav4 with 17 inch rims. I am looking to put a meatier tire on there and possibly a little wider. I believe the rims that came with the car are 17x7.0 with the current tire being 225/65R17. I am wondering if I could put on a 235 all terrain or even possibly a 245. If anyone has any pictures or done this I would love to hear about it! I am kind of assuming it would be something I will need to purchase aftermarket rims for but you never know.
Thanks for the help!

Hi ewilda100, I have a 2011 RAV4 Limited and I recently put Cooper Discoverer A/T tires on in 235/60R17:

As you can see, they fit the stock rims just fine 👍🏼

No rubbing at all.

On a Limited, the spare tire has a hard cover. It won't take bigger tires.
Running with different tire sizes (smaller spare) can mess up the differential.

I went with 245/65/17 BFG KO2 from 4wheelonline. No rubbing issues. I agree that the factory tire cover will not fit on 245's.

If nobody has the exact combo that you want, I would use the info provided above and this calculator:

I'm just cheap and don't really want buy brand A tires ñext season fòr $200-250 cad each. And I see many used like new Michelin mxm4, mxv4 and Pirelli P7 for $400-450 a set, but bigger size 235/60/18...
