Hello all, i recently picked up a 97 4.1 and i noticed upon researching ravs before purchasing one that some 4.1s have a support bar from each strut tower to the firewall. Why is it that not all rigs have this? Id assume its a factory piece because it appears to be made with intention of function over form.
Has anyone noticed a difference in handling with/without it? Has anyone here fabricated one of their own?

I've seen them on the Japanese cars with more powerful engines. They were also fitted to some UK special editions.

Their weak point though will be how strong the firewall is at the attachment, as it may flex. There should really be another tube joining the left and right tubes, somewhere near the centre.

I will be fitting one to mine though, as it keeps the OE look.
