Toyota Connected Services Issue

There are a number of things that you have to go through in the car and accept or decline them. Some of these are allowing data transmission and storage which enables connected services to work. If they are declined, this could be the issue. It has been a while, but I think that I accepted all except for allowing driving data to be sent to Toyota insurance partners. It appears similar items are in the app. Try adding the vehicle again. Select the human outline in the upper right. Then go to Account...Data Privacy Portal and choose your vehicle. Make sure that the Connected Service Master Data Consent is Accepted.

I also had a hard time getting one insurance broker telling me to tell her the vin multiple times, as it wasn't coming up until I gave her the extra 4 digits that is usually not used with the VIN number.
Interesting - where did the extra 4 digits come from that you had to provide? So you had to provide 4 digits in addition to the 17 character VIN?

Have you tried calling Toyota Brand Engagement? In the US, the number is 800-331-4331, but I think you are in Canada. They do have a Connected Services team that helps with these issues. The phone number can also be found in the app by touching the human outline in the upper right, then Account...Help and Feedback...Contact Us.
