Being a fan of old school Land Cruisers and Land Rovers, this new Toyota definitely gets my attention. Possibly an upgrade from my RAV4 in a few years. I was definitely planning on getting a Tacoma double cab, but now I don't know.
What does everyone else think about the new FJ Cruiser? Any rants or raves are welcome.
I like it, and I have even been thinking about getting one. The thing that I like the most about it is the manual transmission, which is usually the deal maker/breaker for any other vehicle I look at.
Do like it, I bet any money that this one will go down a storm in Australia., they do like their Landcruisers out there. Somehow can,t see it selling heaps in the UK.

You are quite right about that! I think it is an off-roading thing. Not sure if there is much off-roading in the U.K., but then again you guys have Land Rover/ Range Rovers to choose from.
Sign me up! I like it alot but the "Element" like suicide doors are not my thing. I could get in alot more trouble off-road in that! Someday I may pick up a used one for the fun of it as my trail-buddy. Old School styling brings me to think of the Land Rovers and Toyota Land Cruiser's that really were made to work.
Kelly, I've noticed you just joined the FJCruiser forums. Your tell tale RAVMAN gave it away. Glad to see you are taking an active interest in the FJ!
Give us the scoops: will it be the new V6 RAV4 or FJ Cruiser; enquiring minds want to know.

I thought I liked them based on the early pics. Having now seen them up close and personal, and sat in one, I think they're great. I wish I had been able to sit in the driver's seat (I sat in the front passenger seat), but there were too many people in line!!! VERY popular at the Auto Show! Hopefully my dealer will have one on the floor I can sit in sometime when I go up for an oil change. As Kelly says, very cool looking! 8) And everyone knows I'm a sucker for a manual. Just one thing though, watch out for those silver things that stick out from the front bumper, I think they're gonna be flying all over the highways unless they secure them better. At the auto show one popped off way too easily in a guy's hand.
One of colleagues scored one of the 50 available Mirai hydrogen cars in northern CA. They went through quite the vetting process to secure same. It's a very attractive and unique car.
The last time I bought a car, I flew to the location and drove it home. Unfortunately, that's not an option this time, so I will need to have it shipped. So, has anybody ever shipped a car before? Can you recommend anybody? Any info would be greatly appreciated. (general info: shipped from FL to KS)
Driving home tonight, I had someone "lurking" off to my left that had super bright lights, not sure if they were high beams or just aftermarket LEDs. Needless to say, they were blinding me via the driver's side mirror. Because of this I slowed down to let them pass, but out of curiosity, I...
Hello.
I am going home for holidays now in january/february and I was thinking in going to Canada as well for a week or two. I would like to know from Canadians/Canada residents if is it worth it go over there in winter? Are there nice things to do for two or three weeks? Some driving, hiking...
I was talking to my dealer management yesterday and told them they needed a subcompact to better compete with the Subaru Cross Trek. I told them my spouse likes the Subaru Cross Trek Limited because it is smaller than the RAV4 mainly because of the smaller cargo area, but did not care for the...
