Hello, I'm being told that TPMS is not 'available' in Canada, but I have been reading that it is something that can be installed. Does anyone have any experience with this? I have a 2021 and ran into a flat tire yesterday. I have no idea how long I was driving on a flat - the car didn't seem to be pulling in any way (but I was driving in a snow storm!). Didn't get any notification of low tire pressure etc and the app shows Information Unavailable. Am I missing something here or was something not configured properly?

Any help would be appreciated - I understand this is all STANDARD features for USA customers though!
Thanks,

Is something like this reliable, considering I don't have one in my car?

Fobo Tire is the most recommended system IIRC.

That might work, but I'd be afraid of losing any one of those caps to passersby. Back in the day (and probably still) those would be trophies. They would have no purpose without the rest of the hardware, but still.

I had called my local dealership in Canada to confirm that my 2020 LE does not come with TPMS sensors. Should I choose to have them installed, there is no way to review/monitor the data from the vehicle or the app (not applicable, in my case). Take this with a grain of salt though, as I had to explain what I meant by "TPMS" when I phoned...

Don't know why people who know their vehicles and how they handle if a tire loses pressure on the road or a driver who is conscientious about tire care would want these mandated in the U.S. nanny state devices on their vehicles. Mandated TPMS valve stem tranmitting devices have to be replaced generally each 10 years and can be pricey, systems sometimes give false readings, and some owners have been so aggravated that they have either devised ways for disabling the TPMS system or taped over the dash TPMS light. There are other annoyances, some expensive. But to each their own, as the saying has it.

I am very happy that the 2021 XLE model recently purchased does not come with TPMS, my brother-inlaw has them on his new truck and he hates it with a passion. At least once a week if gives false positive reading, then when he wanted to buy new winter tires the cost of purchasing 4 new units Wow. Keep them down south we don't need them in Canada .

Hi All.
New to Rav4World.
Sorry for reviving an old thread.
I have a 2021 Rav4 that did not come with tpms. Is it a matter of enabling the function on the ECU and then getting 433MHz sensors. Am I correct in saying that the tpms sensors use the same receiver that is used by the car key remote?
