I've got a 2015 RAV4 that appears to have developed a leak at the engine/transaxle assembly interface. Anyone have experience with this type of leak? I'm thinking the transaxle assembly is going to have to be dropped... I'm a wholehearted DIYer, but this seems like it could be a little complicated. Any advice is appreciated.

Have you checked the tightness / torque of ALL of the bolts? Could be the bolts loosened due to excessive vibration. Of course check the fluid level and top off if needed. May want to reapply Loctite on the threads if the bolts are loose. I'd use a C-clamp to keep the halves tight before removing any of the bolts on the housing.

The 2 left facing bolts with the hex(?) heads shown in the picture. BTW I agree, 80K is very premature. I don't recall seeing any other posts/threads regarding a leak like yours - I could be wrong though.

Do you still have powertrain warranty left by miles or age? I had a leak on mine just before my powertrain was up and the dealer was able to do it under warranty.
