 This is an old installation but go through it and check it out. The pictures at the bottom are just one of the many pictures it has with a very detailed installment. Checkout the alternator protection shell, the angle of the dip stick, the filter relocation, the ports on the exhaust, the letters TURBO on the head. The exhaust head gasket is it for the 3SFe or the 3SGTE engine. Lets all enjoy :D

Thanks JayV, but some day my friend. I look over these and I ask myself so many questions. This was installed in a Camry. This has more then enough space between the radiator and exhaust. This is a commodity that the RAV4 lacks. Conclusion, hay, I'll have to take out the engine and follow this dudes advice. Along with the rest who have taken on this challenge. Just one thing I got going for me. If it comes down on a do or don't do basis. Man, put you money on ME. I'm going all the way regardless and relentless. :D Stay tuned.

Great install link Mensajero. Note: I edited out the pics you linked to in your message. At over 300,000 bytes each they were bad news for our dial-up visitors. FWIW... the same pics can be found by visiting the link 8)

for rav4

Would this also fit a Toyota Rav4 (2000)? But I guess so.. (3SFe is the rav4 engine, right?)

The turbo setup however is not *that* optimal .. since a lot of hot / warm air will be forced into the engine.

If I would do it, I'd make an app with a small turbo, to minimize spool-up lag and have the air being pushed through a fmic. I mean, if you open the hood.. there's a lotta space no? (-o -o -o.. echoes :))

I remember not so long ago I used to have a fairly detailed turbo install of my ride somewhere on these forums....

I guess I'm just lucky enough to have a backup of my project on the Toymods.org.au site.

Andrew, do you have a link to your diy? That toymods forum is rather big. I saw the topic on your car, the CAI, trd shifter, ... but the "turbo" part was missing.

You have a sweet ride though.

mensajero, I was referring to the link you pasted in the very first post. It's a not-that-optimal turbo solution. But erm.. these pictures of that T3, scoop and ic.. are you up to something? :?

Sorry guys, looks like someone took over the great Camry turbo instalation site that was on this link. At least I got the copies of the photos.
