US Treasury inquires about ISIS use of Toyota vehicles - CNNPolitics.com

Atlanta (CNN)The U.S. Treasury is seeking information from Toyota about how the terror group has gotten hold of the automaker's trucks, which have been shown in ISIS propaganda videos.

In a statement, Toyota said it is part of a broader U.S. Treasury inquiry looking more closely on how international supply chains and capital flow into the Middle East. The request of Toyota regarding their trucks was first reported by ABC News.

This isn't the first time that Toyota vehicles have been used by anti-government groups - prior videos even from the aftermath of the U.S./Anglo invasion of Iraq showed anti-U.S. forces using Toyota pickups with mounted machine guns, and video of other such groups also has shown them using Toyotas and Nissans. Obviously whoever is backing these groups is financing their purchase of these vehicles, which can be bought almost anywhere.

Obviously they've seen the Top Gear episode with the Toyota truck that they put on top of a building being demolished and all sorts of other stuff and it still ran.

Hmmm - seems that the U.S. government is at least partially blaming Toyota corporate for the fact that ISIS, etc. have been able to acquire and use Toyota vehicles. Wait for it - in keeping with past U.S. actions, the next news item may be that U.S. embargoes the importation and sales of Toyota vehicles in the U.S. until Toyota can guarantee that its vehicles cannot reach "terrorist" groups and will pressure its allies to do the same!


Meanwhile - 800 Toyota trucks disappeared from Sydney, Australia streets between 2014 and 2015 (JuneBug's linked news item)??? Theft insurance for Sydney must cost a bundle!:surprise
