USA Wait Times and Deliveries for 2023 Hybrid

Was wanting to get a 2023 RAV4 Hybrid Limited White with either ash or nutmeg interior.....litterally contacted almost every single Toyota dealer coast to coast....most via emails....came across several scenarios.....everything from, "we do not sell to out of state buyers"....to $5K over MSRP......was only willing to pay at most MSRP, no "add-on's......no bs. For the dealers that wanted to do business.....was told the average wait time would be 6-9 months. Ended up putting $500 deposit down at two different dealerships that were about 300 miles away from me. Deposits were to be 100% refundable for any reason at any time.....both dealerships agreed to that. Put deposits down on Feb 2nd.....fast forward to Feb 22nd...get an email from one of the dealerships that I placed a deposit with.....was told they had a 2023 RAV4 Hybrid Limited, White with Ash interior in stock (was built in Japan).....asked if we wanted it.....of course we said yes! Turns out, someone else ordered it and decided they did not want it when it came in. Traveled 300 miles and picked it up on Feb 25th. Basically, from the day we put the deposit down, until we took delivery, was about 3 weeks.....a bit shorter than the 6-9 months wait time we were told....yes, we got lucky. As one other poster said, be persistant.....keep checking other dealers, as far away as you are willing to travel....more and more people are changing their mind and are either removing their name from the wait lists....or.....simply are turning down the RAV4 once it arrives. Oh, before I forget, I did get refunded my deposit from the second dealership. Happy Hunting!
