Greetings all. Got a question for you. I am NOT an Apple person but years ago I got this Apple product called an Ipod Shuffle. Its about the size of a large U.S. Postal Stamp. If anyone is familiar with this can you tell me how I can get it to work in our Prime SE? In my old Chevy Truck I had a cable that plugged into the Shuffle & the truck radio. I do not have the round jack in the Prime. I tried my USB cable that came with the Shuffle but the Prime either did not recognize it or simply would not play. Any thoughts on this? Is it possible to use the Ipod Shuffle in the RAV4 ??? Thanks.

Hi @sixthirteen. The iPod Shuffle did not have a USB interface most devices would recognize. Apple used the headphone jack as a data port with a modified USB-to-3.5mm cable. That cable was exclusively for transferring audio files from iTunes to the iPod Shuffle. If that is how you are connecting your iPod Shuffle to your RAV4, it will not work.

Your only options are:
1) Get a low-powered FM transmitter that plugs into the iPod Shuffle's 3.5mm jack
2) Get an aftermarket AUX cord installed on the RAV4 infotainment system

Or get an adapter that plugs into the Shuffle and transmits to the infotainment system via Bluetooth.
