I'm in the early stages of shopping.
I need a V6 and a 4X4
I'm going to be towing, so I thought that a stiffer Sport Suspension might be worth having. Maybe not.

The "build a toyota" site here in the Midwest doesn't show a Sport 4X4 V6.

ALSO, What is the $197 Z2 Preferred Accessory Package?

thanks,
Joe

Hey,

Not sure about the preferred package, but here in Philadelphia, I have a Sport V6 4x4 with Towing Prep package (apparently required in all builds of Sport V6) arriving any day now. (ordered on Jan 2nd)

The towing prep doesnt include the actual hitch, which is about an extra 400-500, but includes an upgraded radiator, etc (which takes it from 1500 - 3000 lb towing capacity I believe).

So to answer your question, yes the vehicle exists, just maybe not in your parts just yet.

I think the availability of the V6 Sport depends what Toyota region you are located in. Play around with different zip codes in the Toyota "Build and Price Your Toyota" and you will see different models and configurations for different areas. My zip code is 12065.

In this area, only the base comes with the 4X4 and the 4X2, but is not available with the V6. The Sport and Limited only come in the 4X4, and both are suppose to be available in the I4 and V6.

Thanks, you guys are right. If you want to see a couple different regions, try 15215 for Pittsburg, 30315 for Atlanta, 80206 for Denver, 63701 for St. Louis general regions.

On second thought I'm looking at a stripped-down Limited. Those 55 series tires on a Sport would not be liking the gravel roads I frequent! Limited has some neat features too. I would only add the tow prep pkg, Daytime running lights, mudguards, rear bumper protector, rubber floor mats, and Cargo tray.

Finding a stripped down 4X4 V6 limited might be tough. I'll probably wait towards the end of the model year perhaps.

I'll buy an aftermarket hitch instead of paying Toyota several hundred for something I can get for $150, a Reese or Hiddenhitch.

Z2 Preferred Accessory Package

I am getting that on my RAV and I'm pretty sure it is floor mats, cargo net and the first aid kit.

I picked up my V6 Sport 4WD RAV4 today :) . I've only driven it about 5 miles, so I don't have much to go on. The steering seems to be precise and tight. The acceleration is great (I wasn't on an open road so I couldn't test it). I think that when I have a real chance to drive it I’ll be impressed.
